Calculation of the copper- /aluminium surcharge

Copper or aluminium as conductor material are integral part of cables and wire.
This raw materials are traded on stock markets. According to this the price varies daily.

The calculation of the metal surcharge occurs after following formula:

copper surcharge = copper number (kg/km) x (DEL + delivery cost) - copper base
                                                                                                  100
The copper number represents the copper weight from a cable or wire and is given in kg per km.
DEL = german electrolytic copper for conduction purposes and is the stock exchange listing
for 99,5% pure copper.

Copper base describes the value in euro per 100 kg copper, wich is already included in the price.
Normaly there are included 150,- euro/100 kg for standard cable; 100,- euro/100kg for telecommunication cable; 0,- euro/100kg (hollow price) for high-voltage-underground cable, UL-wire and wires.

Example for an calculation:

Datacable LIYY 6 x 0,14 qmm
offer price: 165,- euro/km (Base 150 / 8,9 kg/km)
copper number: 8,90 kg per km
DEL: 650,- euro pro 100 kg
delivery cost: for example 6,50 €

copper base: 150,- Euro/100 kg

surcharge = 8,90 (kg/km) x (650+6,5) - 150 (euro/kg) = 45,07 euro/km
                                                                 100

offer prize              165,00 Euro/km
+ copper surcharge   45,07 Euro/km

total prize            210,07 Euro/km
